About Tank Marwin (bio)

Tank Marwin officially started his musical journey in 2003 when he released Initial Game Plan with the help of Ludvika-based crew Solid Senders who made experimental and alternative hip-hop/electronic music. It was in this setting he befriended the late James Hall, a.k.a. Jah Rhythm. Tank and Jah formed the group Weight Gain and recorded several songs but the album/EP never saw an official release.

The group did however perform together and did multiple shows around Sweden, before parting ways because of creative differences. Tank released the mixtape Leave ya flat somehow during this time and the cd was bootlegged by russian mp3-sites and overnight saw several hundred thousand google hits of his name in lists with big established artists. Unsure of what had happened, Tank followed through on the momentum and begun recording his debut album Tank You together with production team Sansprofit Productions.

Tank pitched the album to Streetzone/PPB while meeting up with the legendary Broadcaster D together with Bashie (Robert Valsinger) and signed his first record contract. The album released in 2004 and was well received and got some airplay on radio station P3, but the lack of a music video or clear single choice kept the album an underground gem.

Tank found a creative partner in Skitzophrenic and they recorded two songs together, The Island and Stray which were released as free mp3:s. Stray was an instant success and the two decided to record an album together, which also included Orphic on several tracks, and as part of the group which now called themselves Perfect Combination. Eventually Perfect Combination released the album Conquer which featured verses from Akem (SWE), K-Skills (US), Mc Tia (DK) and more. The album sold around 1000 physical cd-r copies.

After Perfect Combination, Tank and Skitzophrenic set out to record a Tank Marwin solo follow up to his first album on Streetzone/PPB. The result was The Outburst, a hard hitting underground rap album with features from Jah Rhythm (US/SWE), Truescribe (US), Mufakka (SWE), Bucc (SWE), Fort Knox/Tabs (SWE) and more. The album entered the swedish album list and had a good buzz, when the record label unfortunately collapsed.

Tank and Skitzophrenic struggled with how to either repair or move forward with the album, but eventually chose not to act on it, which makes the album a hard to find piece of swedish hip-hop history. Tank followed up with releasing Unofficial Business exclusively on one of germany’s biggest hip-hop webpages at the time and eventually teamed up with Skitzo and Orphic for Unofficial Business volume 2.

Going through personal hardships in 2009 Tank opted out of music and focused on other things, until he met Mr. Pony at Bobby Royale rapper Isak Parker’s wedding and the two decided to record a song together for an art project and exhibition. Mr. Pony and Tank later decided to make more songs which eventually resulted in the group Panzer Horse and the album Guns n’ Horses which was released in 2013.

Fast forward to 2024 and Bobby Royale album Red Flag. Isak Parker asked Tank to contribute a verse to the song The Originals, which also featured Orphic on the hook. Shortly after a childhook friend of Tank asked if he wanted to make music for a dystopian tv-show in production. Tank agreed but felt it was too much to take on himself and asked Bobby Royale if they should make something together for the show. The tv-show dropped off production and was placed in limbo but Bobby Royale and Tank Marwin wanted to finish the album and released Under The Moon in January 2026.

During the spring and summer of 2025 Tank decided to become self sufficient and make his own music, so he once again invested in equipment and set up a home studio. During the summer of 2025 Tank began work on 20+ songs, spending more than 10 hours straight some days, writing, recording, producing, learning how to mix and engineer. The first solo Tank Marwin song in 10+ years was Thesaurus Rex which was released in September 2025.

In Janurary 2026 Tank released his first offical song in Swedish, Jordenbitar.
